   1. Hora competenti fit collecta in ecclesia minore vel in alio loco apto extra ecclesiam, ad quam processio tendit. Fideles tenent in manibus candelas non accensas.
2. Accedit sacerdos cum ministris, indutus paramentis albis sicut ad Missam; sed pro casula sacerdos sumere potest pluviale, quod deponit, expleta processione.
3. Dum accenduntur candelæ, cantatur antiphona vel alius cantus aptus.
   1. At the most opportune moment, everyone gathers in a smaller church or other suitable place outside the church to which the procession is heading. The faithful have extinguished candles in their hands.
2. The priest arrives with the ministers, dressed in white vestments as for mass, or with the cope, which in this case is used until the end of the procession.

   Dear brothers and sisters: Forty days ago, we joyfully celebrated the Nativity of our Lord. Today, we commemorate the happy day when Jesus was presented in the temple by Mary and Joseph, publicly fulfilling the Law of Moses, but, in reality, going out to meet his people who were waiting for him with faith. The holy elders Simeon and Anna went to the temple moved by the Holy Spirit;
there, illuminated by the same Spirit, they came to know the Lord and proclaimed him with joy. Let us too, gathered in unity by the Holy Spirit, go to the house of God to meet Christ. We'll find him and recognize him in the breaking of bread, until he returns clothed in glory.

   8. When the procession enters the church, the entrance antiphon or other appropriate hymn is sung. When the priest arrives at the altar, he venerates it, and if incense is used, he incenses it. He goes to the chair, and if he has used it, he changes the cope for the chasuble, then after the Gloria, follows the Collect. Mass continues as usual.
