Léctio Epístolæ ad Hebrǽos (10,11-18)
Omnis quidem sacérdos stat cotídie minístrans et eásdem sæpe ófferens hóstias, quæ numquam possunt auférre peccáta. Hic autem, una pro peccátis obláta hóstia, in sempitérnum consédit in déxtera Dei, de cétero exspéctans, donec ponántur inimíci eíus scabéllum pedum eíus; una enim oblatióne consummávit in sempitérnum eos, qui sanctificántur. Testificátur autem nobis et Spíritus Sanctus; postquam enim dixit: “Hoc est testaméntum, quod testábor ad illos post dies illos, dicit Dóminus, dando leges meas in córdibus eórum, et in mente eórum superscríbam eas; et peccatórum eórum et iniquitátum eórum iam non recordábor ámplius.” Ubi autem horum remíssio, iam non oblátio pro peccáto.
And every Priest indeed is ready daily ministering, and often offering the same hosts, which can never take away sins: but this man offering one host for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God, hence-forth expecting, until his enemies be put the foot-stool of his feet. For by one oblation hath he consummated for ever them that are sanctified. And the Holy Ghost also doth testify to us. For after that he said: And this is the Testament which I will make to them after those days, saith our Lord, giving my laws in their hearts, and in their minds will I superscribe them: and their sins and iniquities I will now remember no more. But where there is remission of these, now there is not an oblation for sins.
