Léctio Epístolæ ad Hebrǽos (10,5-10)
Impossíbile est sánguinem taurórum et hircórum auférre peccáta. Ídeo ingrédiens Christus mundum dicit: " “Hóstiam et oblatiónem noluísti, corpus autem aptásti mihi; holocautomáta et sacrifícia pro peccáto non tibi placuérunt. Tunc dixi: Ecce vénio, in capítulo libri scriptum est de me, ut fáciam, Deus, voluntátem tuam.” Supérius dicens: “Hóstias et oblatiónes et holocautomáta et sacrifícia pro peccáto noluísti, nec placuérunt tibi”, quæ secúndum legem offerúntur, tunc dixit: “Ecce vénio, ut fáciam voluntátem tuam.” Aufert primum, ut secúndum státuat; in qua voluntáte sanctificáti sumus per oblatiónem córporis Christi Iésu in semel.
For it is impossible that with the blood of oxen and goats sins should be taken away. Therefore coming into the world he saith: Host and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me: Holocausts and for sin did not please thee. Then said I, Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: That I may do thy will, o God. Saying before, Because hosts and oblations & holocausts, & for sin thou wouldest not, neither did they please thee, which are offered according to the law, then said I, Behold I come that I may do thy will, o God: he taketh away the first, that he may establish that that followeth. In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.
