   Hymnus

Lætáre, cælum, désuper, appláude, tellus ac mare: Christus resúrgens post crucem vitam dedit mortálibus.

Iam tempus accéptum redit, dies salútis cérnitur, quo mundus Agni sánguine refúlsit a calígine.

Lord Jesus, grant unto our souls Eternal paschal joy, we pray, And grant a share in victory To those reborn by grace today.
Amen.
All glory, Jesus, be to thee, The conqueror whom we adore, The Father and the Spirit blest Who reign with thee for evermore.

The God of gods, the Lord has spoken, and He hath called the earth from sunrise to sunset.
From Zion appears the radiance of His beauty. God will come visibly; * He, our God, and He shall not be silent.
Fire will be kindled in His presence, and a violent storm will surround Him.
Advocábit cælum desúrsum * et terram discérnere pópulum suum:
He shall call heaven and earth from on high, to discern His people.
«Congregáte mihi sanctos meos, * qui disposuérunt testaméntum meum in sacrifício».
Gather before Him His saints, who seal His covenant with sacrifices.
And the heavens will declare His righteousness, for God is the judge.
Numquid manducábo carnes taurórum * aut sánguinem hircórum potábo?

   Immola Deo sacrifícium laudis * et redde Altíssimo vota tua;
Immolate to God a sacrifice of praise, and make thy vows unto the Most High.
et ínvoca me in die tribulatiónis: * éruam te, et honorificábis me».
Then call upon Me in the day of tribulation; I will deliver thou, and thou shalt glorify Me.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.

   III
   III
Peccatóri autem dixit Deus: «Quare tu enárras præcépta mea * et assúmis testaméntum meum in os tuum?
But God said unto the sinner, Wherefore do thou list My statutes, and wherefore do thou hast My covenant constantly in thy mouth?
Tu vero odísti disciplínam * et proiecísti sermónes meos retrórsum.
Thou who hate discipline, and who have cast My words behind thou.
If thou sawest a thief, thou ranst with him, and thou put thy share with the adulterers.
Thy mouth was filled with malice, and thy tongue plotted fraud.
Sedens advérsus fratrem tuum loquebáris * et advérsus fílium matris tuæ proferébas oppróbrium.
Thou wouldst sit down to speak against thy brother, and thou wouldst set traps against thy mother's son.
Hæc fecísti, et tácui. Existimásti quod eram tui símilis. * Arguam te et státuam illa contra fáciem tuam.
This is what thou didst, and I was silent. Thou ungodly believed that I would be like thou. I will rebuke thou, and I will put everything before thy eyes.
Understand these things, thou who forget God; lest He tear apart, and no one can deliver.
Qui immolábit sacrifícium laudis, honorificábit me, et, qui immaculátus est in via, * osténdam illi salutáre Dei».
The sacrifice of praise is that which will honor Me, and this is the way by which I will show man the salvation of God.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

   In primo nocturno, anno I

Et omnes ángeli stabant in circúitu throni et seniórum et quáttuor animálium, et cecidérunt in conspéctu throni in fácies suas et adoravérunt Deum dicéntes: " Amen! Benedíctio et glória et sapiéntia et gratiárum áctio et honor et virtus et fortitúdo Deo nostro in sæcula sæculórum. Amen. "

O God, who shows the light of Thy truth to those who go astray so that they may return unto the path, grant to all who belong unto the Christian faith to reject things unworthy of the name and to seek those that are conformed to it.
