  r. Glória tibi Dómine.
  r. Glory be to Thee, O Lord..
  Iésu Christi generatio sic erat. Cum esset desponsáta mater eíus María Ióseph, ántequam convenírent invénta est in útero habens de Spíritu Sancto. Ióseph autem vir eíus, cum esset iústus et nollet eam tradúcere, vóluit occúlte dimíttere eam. Hæc autem eo cogitánte, ecce ángelus Dómini in somnis appáruit ei dicens: “Ióseph fili David, noli timére accípere Maríam coníugem tuam. Quod enim in ea natum est, de Spíritu Sancto est; páriet autem fílium, et vocábis nomen eíus Iésum: ipse enim salvum fáciet pópulum suum a peccátis eórum.” Hoc autem totum factum est, ut adimplerétur id, quod dictum est a Dómino per prophétam dicéntem: “Ecce, virgo in útero habébit et páriet fílium, et vocábunt nomen eíus Emmánuel”, quod est interpretátum Nobíscum Deus. Exsúrgens autem Ióseph a somno fecit, sicut præcépit ei ángelus Dómini, et accépit coníugem suam;
  Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost. Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately. But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name JESUS. For he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying: Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife.
  Verbum Dómini. r. Laus tibi, Christe.
  Word of the Lord. r. Praise be to Thee, O Christ.

  De Maternitate beatæ Mariæ Virginis
On the maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus:
  Truly it is worthy and just, equitable and salutary, for us always and everywhere to give You thanks: Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God: through Christ, our Lord.
  Et te in veneratióne beátæ Maríæ semper Vírginis collaudáre, benedícere et prædicáre. Quæ et Unigénitum tuum Sancti Spíritus obumbratióne concépit, et, virginitátis glória permanénte, lumen ætérnum mundo effúdit, Iesum Christum Dóminum nostrum.
  And to praise You, bless You and preach to You by venerating Blessed Mary, ever virgin. Because she conceived Your only Son through the work of the Holy Spirit and, without losing the glory of her virginity, cast an eternal light on the world, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
  Per quem maiestátem tuam laudant Angeli, adórant Dominatiónes, tremunt Potestátes. Cæli cælorúmque Virtútes, ac beáta Séraphim, sócia exsultatióne concélebrant.
  He through whom the angels praise Your majesty, adore the dominions and tremble the powers. The heavens of heavens, the virtues and the blessed seraphim celebrate You united in exultation.
  Cum quibus et nostras voces ut admítti iúbeas, deprecámur, súpplici confessióne dicéntes:
  It is with them that we raise our voices so that we may be associated with them, we beseech You, humbly saying Your praises:
