Afflicti supplicatio cum fiducia

Supplication of the afflicted with confidence

Pater, in manus tuas commendo spiritum meum (Lc 23, 46).

Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit (Lk 23:46)

In te, Dómine, sperávi, non confúndar in ætérnum; * in iustítia tua líbera me.

I have hoped in Thou, Lord; that I should never be confounded; in Thy righteousness, deliver me.

Inclína ad me aurem tuam, * accélera, ut éruas me.

Incline thy ear unto me; Make haste to deliver me. Be me a protective God and a house of refuge, * that Thou may save me.

Esto mihi in rupem præsídii et in domum munítam, * ut salvum me fácias.

How great, O Lord, is the abundance of Thy meekness, which Thou hast set up for those who fear Thou!

Perfecísti eis, qui sperant in te, * in conspéctu filiórum hóminum.

Thou exercise it against those who hope in Thou, in the sight of the children of men.
