Léctio Epístolæ ad Hebrǽos (12,18-19.22-24a)
Fratres: Non accessístis ad tractábilem et ardéntem ignem et túrbinem et calíginem et procéllam et tubæ sonum et vocem verbórum, quam qui audiérunt, recusavérunt, ne ultra eis fíeret verbum. Sed accessístis ad Sion montem et civitátem Dei vivéntis, Ierusálem cæléstem, et multa mília angelórum, frequéntiam et ecclésiam primogenitórum, qui conscrípti sunt in cælis, et iúdicem Deum ómnium et spíritus iustórum, qui consummáti sunt, et testaménti novi mediatórem Iésum et sánguinem aspersiónis.
Brethren: For you are not come to a palpable mount, and an accessible fire, and whirl-wind, and darkness, and storm, and the sound of trumpet, and voice of words, which they that heard, excused themselves, that the word might not be spoken to them, But you are come to mount Sion, and the city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem, and the assembly of many thousand Angels, & the Church of the first-born, which are written in the Heavens, and the judge of all, God: and the spirits of the just made perfect, and the mediator of the new Testament Jesus, and the sprinkling of blood.
