Christus omnes hómines ad salútem vult perdúcere. Ideo eum sincéro ánimi
afféctu exorémus:
Christ wants to lead all men to salvation. So with a sincere heart
Let us beg:
Let us beg:
Trahe ómnia ad te, Dómine.
Draw all things to Thee, O Lord.
Benedíctus es, Dómine, qui redemísti nos per pretiósum sánguinem tuum a servitúte peccáti;
Blessed are Thou, O Lord, who has redeemed us with Thy precious blood from the bondage of sin
— libertátem glóriæ nobis tríbue filiórum.
"grant us the liberty of glory for our sons."
Grátiam tuam concéde antístiti nostro N. et ómnibus Ecclésiæ epíscopis,
Grant grace to our Bishop N. and to all the bishops of the Church
— ut mystéria tua læto spíritus fervóre minístrent.
— that they may attend to Thy mysteries with joyful fervour.
Da ómnibus, qui veritátem investígant, ut eam quæréndo invéniant,
Grant to all who seek the truth, that by seeking it they may find it
— et inveniéndo semper requírant.
— and that when they find it they are evermore looking for it.
Adésto, Dómine, órphanis, víduis et ómnibus derelíctis,
Be present, Lord, unto the orphans, the widows and all the forsaken
— ut propínquum te séntiant tibíque magis adhǽreant.
— that they may feel close to Thee, and that they may adhere more to Thee.
Defúnctos fratres in cæléstem civitátem benígnus accípias,
Deign to lead our departed brethren unto the heavenly city
— in qua cum Patre et Spíritu Sancto eris ómnia in ómnibus.
— in which with the Father and the Holy Spirit Thou shalt be all in all.
