De dominica Passione.
On the Passion of the Lord.
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus: per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Verily, it is right and just, fair and beneficial, for us to give thee thanks evermore and everywhere: unto thee, Lord, holy Father, eternal and almighty God, through Christ our Lord.
Qui pati pro ímpiis dignátus est ínnocens, et pro scelerátis indébite condemnári. Cuius mors delícta nostra detérsit, et iustificatiónem nobis resurréctio comparávit.
He, though innocent, deigned to suffer for the ungodly and to be unjustly condemned in place of the wicked. Through His death, He wiped away our sins, and through His resurrection, He secured our justification.
Unde et nos cum ómnibus Angelis te laudámus, iucúnda celebratióne clamántes:
That is wherefore, together with all the angels, we praise Thou and exult in joyful celebration:
