   Præfatio II de beata Maria Virgine
   
   Ecclesia, verbis Mariæ, laudes Deo persolvit
   Through Mary's words, the Church praises God.
   Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, in ómnium Sanctórum provéctu te mirábilem confitéri, et potíssimum, beátæ Vírginis Maríæ memóriam recoléntes, cleméntiam tuam ipsíus grato magnificáre præcónio.
   Verily, it is right and necessary, just and beneficial, to offer Thou wonderful praise, Lord, by celebrating the memory of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and above all to magnify Thy mercy with a song of gratitude.
   Vere namque in omnes terræ fines magna fecísti, ac tuam in sǽcula prorogásti misericórdiæ largitátem, cum, ancíllæ tuæ humilitátem aspíciens, per eam dedísti humánæ salútis auctórem, Fílium tuum, Iesum Christum, Dóminum nostrum.
   for thee have worked wonders in every corner of the earth, and Thou hast extended the abundance of Thy mercy through the ages, when, in view of the humility of Thy servant, Thou gave herand through herthe Author of human salvation, Thy Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
   Per quem maiestátem tuam adórat exércitus Angelórum, ante conspéctum tuum in æternitáte lætántium. 
   Through him, the armies of angels worship Thy majesty, rejoicing before Thy face for all eternity.
