De salute per oboedientiam Christi
On Christ's Salvation and Obedience
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus:
It is right and just, and it is our duty and our salvation, to give thanks unto thee at all times and in all places, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
Quia sic mundum misericórditer dilexísti, ut ipsum nobis mítteres Redemptórem, quem absque peccáto in nostra voluísti similitúdine conversári, ut amáres in nobis quod diligébas in Fílio, cuius oboediéntia sumus ad tua dona reparáti, quæ per inoboediéntiam amiserámus peccándo.
For Thy love for the world was so merciful that Thou sent us Thy own Son as our Redeemer, and Thou willed that He be in every way like us, except in sin, so that Thou might love in us what Thou loved in Him. Through His obedience, Thou hast restored the gifts we had lost through our disobedience.
Unde et nos, Dómine, cum Angelis et Sanctis univérsis tibi confitémur, in exsultatióne dicéntes:
That is wherefore, Lord, filled with joy, we praise Thou together with the angels and all the saints, saying:
