De Ecclesia adunata ex unitate Trinitatis
Of the Church gathered together in the unity of the Trinity
Sequens præfatio dicitur in dominicis „per annum“.
The following preface is read on Sundays "throughout the year."
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus:
It is verily right and just, fair and salutary, to give thee thanks evermore and everywhere, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God:
Quia fílios, quos longe peccáti crimen abstúlerat, per sánguinem Fílii tui Spiritúsque virtúte, in unum ad te dénuo congregáre voluísti: ut plebs, de unitáte Trinitátis adunáta, in tuæ laudem sapiéntiæ multifórmis Christi corpus templúmque Spíritus noscerétur Ecclésia.
for thee desired, through the blood of Thy Son and the power of the Spirit, to gather back to Thyself the children whom the guilt of sin had driven away, so that the people, united in the unity of the Trinity, might be recognized as the body of Christ and the temple of the Spirit, unto the praise of Thy manifold wisdom—the Church.
