Hymnus
Fratres, coróna cǽlica qua Patriárcha légifer magnúsque doctor cíngitur nostris adéste láudibus.
O brothers, diadem renowned With which our Patriarch is crowned, Our Legislator, Teacher great: Join us who praise and celebrate.
Christum secúti príncipem, nil hoc putástis cárius, certum tenéntes trámitem sanctæ fidéles Régulæ.
You followed Christ as Lord and King And held more dear no other thing; From paths secure you did not stray, But kept the Rule, our holy way.
Vos claustra quantis grátiæ impléstis hic odóribus, dum grata per siléntia mens hæret immortálibus !
With what great fragrances of grace You filled the earthly cloister-space! In silence sweet, where nothing stirred, Your minds immortal wisdom heard.
Obœdiéntes Spíritus ad alta vexit cúlmina, pacis, precum dulcédine et caritátis ímbuens.
As you obeyed, the Spirit’s might Raised up your soul to lofty height, Instilling sweetness everywhere, Of charity and peace and prayer.
Mercéde compti céntupla viǽque nostræ cónscii, nunc ferte robur frátribus, levámen atque gáudium.
All you, who knew our life of old, Bedecked in payment hundredfold, Now give your brothers here below All comfort, strength, and joy to know.
Sit Trinitáti glória, quæ vestra nos consórtia per dura det per áspera gressu valénti cónsequi.
All glory to the Three in One; May God help us our course to run, Enduring hard and bitter strife, To join you in eternal life. Amen.
