Cruces velatæ remanent usque ad expletam celebrationem Passionis Domini, feria VI Hebdomadæ sanctæ, imagines vero usque ad initium Vigiliæ paschalis. Hac dominica celebratur tertium scrutinium præparatorium ad baptismum pro catechumenis, qui in Vigilia paschali ad sacramenta initiationis christianæ admittentur, adhibitis orationibus et intercessionibus propriis, ut infra.
The custom of veiling crosses and images in the church since this Sunday can be maintained, at the judgment of the Bishops' Conferences. The crosses remain veiled until such time as the end of the celebration of the Passion of the Lord, on the Friday of Holy Week, whilst the images remain so until such time as the beginning of the Easter Vigil. This Sunday, the third ballot in preparation for the baptism of catechumens, who will be admitted unto the sacraments of Christian initiation, is celebrated, with their own prayers and intercessions, as below.
