Obsecration of the sinner when he is in extreme danger

Stabant omnes noti eius a longe (Lc 23, 49).

Lord, do not rebuke me in Thy wrath, nor punish me in Thy wrath,

For my loins have been filled with illusions, and there is naught healthy in my flesh.

I was afflicted and humiliated beyond measure, and the groan of my heart drew roars from me.

Dómine, ante te omne desidérium meum, * et gémitus meus a te non est abscónditus.

Lord, all my desire is before Thou, and my groaning is not hidden from Thou.

Palpitávit cor meum, derelíquit me virtus mea, * et lumen oculórum meórum, et ipsum non est mecum.

My heart is troubled, my strength has left me, and even the light of my eyes is no longer with me.

Amíci mei et próximi mei procul a plaga mea stetérunt, * et propínqui mei de longe stetérunt.

My friends and relatives walked up unto me, and stopped. Those who were near me stopped at a distance.

And those who wanted my life used violence. Those who sought to harm me spoke lies, and all day long they meditated deception.

I have become like a man who does not hearken, and who has no replies in his mouth.

Ingens grátia Ioánnis, dilectíssimi. Tricubitális homo, mente et cogitátibus una in cælum Verbum consectátus ascéndit. Fide contúitus est e patérno nulla passióne egrediéntem sinu; Deúmque ex Deo génitum. Vidit Spíritum Sanctum cum Patre et Fílio adorátum; Trinitátem in unitáte láudibus celebrátam, eamdémque in tribus discrétam persónis, atque natúra unítam.
