Carissimi: Si scitis quóniam iústus est, scitóte quóniam et omnis, qui facit iustítiam, ex ipso natus est. Vidéte qualem caritátem dedit nobis Pater, ut fílii Dei nominémur, et sumus! Propter hoc mundus non cognóscit nos, quia non cognóvit eum. Caríssimi, nunc fílii Dei sumus, et nondum manifestátum est quid érimus; scimus quóniam, cum ipse apparúerit, símiles ei érimus, quóniam vidébimus eum, sícuti est. Et omnis, qui habet spem hanc in eo, puríficat se, sicut ille purus est. Omnis, qui facit peccátum, et iniquitátem facit, quia peccátum est iníquitas. Beloved: If you know that he is just, know ye that every one also which doeth justice, is born of him. See what manner of charity the Father hath given us, that we should be named and be the sons of God. For this cause the world doth not know us, because it hath not known him. My dearest, now we are the sons of God; & it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know that when he shall appear, we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is. And every one that hath this hope in him, sanctifieth himself, as he also is holy. Every one that committeth sin, committeth also iniquity: and sin is iniquity. And you know that he appeared to take away our sins: and sin in him there is none. Every one that abideth in him, sinneth not: and every one that sinneth, hath not seen him, nor known him.

Et ego nesciébam eum, sed ut manifestétur Israel, proptérea veni ego in aqua baptízans.”Et testimónium perhíbuit Ioánnes dicens: “Vidi Spíritum descendéntem quasi colúmbam de cælo, et mansit super eum; et ego nesciébam eum, sed, qui misit me baptizáre in aqua, ille mihi dixit: ‘Super quem víderis Spíritum descendéntem et manéntem super eum, hic est qui baptízat in Spíritu Sancto.’ Et ego vidi et testimónium perhíbui quia hic est Fílius Dei.”

On the maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus:
Truly it is worthy and just, equitable and salutary, for us always and everywhere to give Thee thanks: Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God: through Christ, our Lord.
Et te in veneratióne beátæ Maríæ semper Vírginis collaudáre, benedícere et prædicáre. Quæ et Unigénitum tuum Sancti Spíritus obumbratióne concépit, et, virginitátis glória permanénte, lumen ætérnum mundo effúdit, Iesum Christum Dóminum nostrum.
And to praise Thee, bless Thee and preach to Thee by venerating Blessed Mary, ever virgin. Because she conceived Thine only Son through the work of the Holy Spirit and, without losing the glory of her virginity, cast an eternal light on the world, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Through Mary's words, the Church praises God.
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, in ómnium Sanctórum provéctu te mirábilem confitéri, et potíssimum, beátæ Vírginis Maríæ memóriam recoléntes, cleméntiam tuam ipsíus grato magnificáre præcónio.
Verily, it is right and necessary, just and beneficial, to offer Thou wonderful praise, Lord, by celebrating the memory of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and above all to magnify Thy mercy with a song of gratitude.
Vere namque in omnes terræ fines magna fecísti, ac tuam in sǽcula prorogásti misericórdiæ largitátem, cum, ancíllæ tuæ humilitátem aspíciens, per eam dedísti humánæ salútis auctórem, Fílium tuum, Iesum Christum, Dóminum nostrum.
for thee have worked wonders in every corner of the earth, and Thou hast extended the abundance of Thy mercy through the ages, when, in view of the humility of Thy servant, Thou gave her—and through her—the Author of human salvation, Thy Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Per quem maiestátem tuam adórat exércitus Angelórum, ante conspéctum tuum in æternitáte lætántium.
Through him, the armies of angels worship Thy majesty, rejoicing before Thy face for all eternity.
