O God, we have heard with our ears; our fathers have told us of the work that Thou hast done in their days, and in the days of old.

Cum Iesus baptizátus esset, apérti sunt cæli et descéndit super eum Spíritus Sanctus in spécie colúmbæ; deínde vox désuper consecúta est: Hic est Fílius meus diléctus in quo bene sensi. Habémus ergo distínctam quodam modo Trinitátem: in voce Patrem, in hómine Fílium, in colúmba Spíritum Sanctum. Hoc quidem commemoráre opus erat; nam vidére facíllimum est.
