I have known, O Lord, that Thy judgments are just, and that Thou hast humbled me according to Thy righteousness. Pierce my flesh with Thy fear; I dread Thy judgments. Ps. ibid. 1 Blessed are those who are immaculate in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. v. Glory to the Father.

Deus, mæréntium consolátor, qui beátæ Mónicæ pias lácrimas in conversióne fílii sui Augustíni misericórditer suscepísti, † da nobis, utriúsque intervéntu, peccáta nostra deploráre, et grátiæ tuæ indulgéntiam inveníre. Per Dóminum.
O God who comforts those who weep, Thou whose mercy received the pious tears of Saint Monica for the conversion of her son Augustine, grant us their help to weep for our sins and obtain forgiveness from Thy benevolence.
Lectio I
Sicut sol óriens mundo in altíssimis Dei, sic mulíeris bonæ spécies in ornaméntum domus eíus.
The husband of a good wife is happy: for the number of his years is double. Astrong woman delighteth her husband, and shall accomplish the years of his life in peace. Agood woman is a good portion, in the good portion of them that fear God shall she be given to a man for good deeds: And the heart of rich and poor is good, at all time their countenance is merry. The grace of a diligent woman shall delight her husband, and shall fat his bones. Her discipline is the gift of God. Awise and still woman, there is no exchange for a soul instructed. Aholy, and shamefast woman, is grace upon grace. And all weight is not worthy a continent soul. As the sun rising to the world in the highest places of God, so is the beauty of a good woman for an ornament of her house.
Verbum Dómini. r. Deo grátias.
Word of the Lord. r. Let us give thanks to God.

At that time, Jesus came to pass afterwards, that he went into a city that is called Naim; and there went with him his disciples, and a great multitude. And when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold a dead man was carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow: and a great multitude of the city was with her. Whom when the Lord had seen, being moved with mercy towards her, he said to her: Weep not. And he came near and touched the bier. And they that carried it, stood still. And he said: Young man, I say to thee, arise. And he that was dead, sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. And there came a fear on them all: and they glorified God, saying: A great prophet is risen up among us: and, God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the country round about.

On the Glory of the Saints
Verily, it is worthy and just, equitable and salutary, for us, evermore and everywhere to give thee thanks: Eternal and Almighty God :
for thee are glorified in the assembly of the saints, and by crowning their merits, Thou crown Thy own gifts. In their lives, Thou provide us with a model; in communion with them, a family; and in their intercession, support; so that, sustained by so many witnesses, we may run the race set before us unto the end and receive with them the imperishable crown of glory, through Christ our Lord.

Second Preface of the Saints
De actione Sanctorum
On the Deeds of the Saints
Dici potest in memoriis Sanctorum.
The following preface is used in Masses “of All Saints,” for the patron saints and titular saints of the church, and on the solemnities and feasts of the saints, unless a more appropriate preface is to be used. It may also be used on the memorials of the saints.
It is verily right and just, fair and fitting, to give thee thanks evermore and everywhere: Lord, holy Father, eternal and almighty God, through Christ our Lord.
For through the admirable witness of thy saints, thou enrich thy Church with ever-renewed virtue, and thou givest us the surest proofs of thy love. Moreover, in the fulfillment of the mysteries of salvation, we are inspired by their outstanding example and continually supported by their devout intercession.
That is wherefore, Lord, together with the angels and all the saints, we confess thou, saying with joy:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dóminus Deus Sábaoth...
