Stabant omnes noti eius a longe (Lc 23, 49).

My heart is troubled, my strength has left me, and even the light of my eyes is no longer with me.

My friends and relatives walked up unto me, and stopped. Those who were near me stopped at a distance.

And those who wanted my life used violence. Those who sought to harm me spoke lies, and all day long they meditated deception.

Dissénsio facta est inter Paulum et Bárnabam. Et in prophétis divérsas senténtias compérimus, et vários mores : verbi grátia Elías austérus erat, Móyses mitis. Hic ígitur veheméntior est Paulus. Ergóne ímprobus Bárnabas? Mínime; immo valde absúrdum esset id putáre. Quómodo non absúrdum esset, ob rem ádeo levem illum dícere ímprobum? Sed vide, primum hinc nihil mali provenísse, si cum íntegris géntibus suffícere possent, separáti sint; immo étiam hinc magnum prodiísse bonum : deínde, si hoc non accidísset, non fácile separári voluíssent.
