Lectio I
This is what the Lord says: "I know their works, and their cogitations: I come that I may gather together, with all nations and tongues: and they shall come and shall see my glory. And I will put a sign in them, and I will send of them, that shall be saved, to the Gentiles into the sea, into Afrike, & Lydia, them that hold the arrow: into Italy, and Greece; to the islands far off, to them that have not heard of me, and have not seen my glory. And they shall shew forth my glory to the Gentiles: and they shall bring all your brethren of all nations a gift to our Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, & in horse-litters, & on mules, and in coaches, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith our Lord, as if the children of Israel should bring in a gift in a clean vessel into the house of our Lord. And I will take of them to be Priests, & Levites", saith our Lord.

Lectio II
Brethren: you have forgotten the consolation, which speaketh to you, as it were to children, saying, My son, neglect not the discipline of our Lord: neither be thou wearied whiles thou art rebuked of him. For whom our Lord loveth, he chasteneth; & he scourgeth every child that he receiveth. Persevere ye in discipline. As unto children doth God offer himself to you. For what son is there, whom the father doth not correct? And all discipline for the present certes seemeth not to be of joy, but of sorrow: but afterward it will render to them that are exercised by it, most peaceable fruit of justice. For the which cause stretch up the slacked hands & the loose knees and make straight steps to your feet: that no man halting err, but rather be healed.

Word of the Lord. r. Let us give thanks to God.

In that time: Jesus went by the cities and towns teaching, and making his journey unto Jerusalem. And a certain man said to him: Lord, be they few that are saved? But he said to them: Strive to enter by the narrow gate: because many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able. But when the good-man of the house shall enter in, and shut the door, and you shall begin to stand without, and knock at the door, saying, Lord open to us: and he answering shall say to you, I know you not whence you are: then you shall begin to say: We did eat before thee and drink, and in our streets didst thou teach. And he shall say to you, I know you not whence you are, depart from me all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth: when you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and all the Prophets in the Kingdom of God, and you to be thrust out. And there shall come from the East and West & the North and the South; and shall sit down in the Kingdom of God. And behold, they are last that shall be first, and they be first that shall be last.

PREFACE V SUNDAYS “THROUGHOUT THE YEAR”
De creatione
On Creation
It is right and just, and it is our duty and our salvation, to give thee thanks at all times and in all places, Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
for thee have created the entire universe and established the ceaseless cycle of the seasons, and to humankind, formed in Thy image and likeness, Thou hast subjected the wonders of the world, so that in Thy name, they may rule over creation. And, contemplating Thy greatness, he may praise Thou at all times, through Christ our Lord.
That is wherefore we praise Thou together with all the angels, joyfully acclaiming Thou:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dóminus Deus Sábaoth...
