I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom all paternity in the Heavens and in earth is named, that he give you according to the riches of his glory, power to be fortified by his Spirit in the inner man. Christ to dwell by faith in your hearts, rooted and founded in charity, that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the breadth, and length, and height and depth, to know also the charity of Christ, surpassing knowledge, that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God.

   Iob (19,21-27)

Miserémini mei, miserémini mei, saltem vos, amíci mei, quia manus Dómini tétigit me.

PREFACE ON THE HOLY VIRGINS AND NUNS
   De signo vitæ Deo consecratæ
The Sign of a Life Dedicated to God
Sequens præfatio dicitur in sollemnitatibus et festis Sanctarum Virginum et Sanctorum Religiosorum. Dici potest in memoriis ipsorum.
The following preface is recited during solemnities and feasts of the Holy Virgins and holy women religious. It may also be recited when their memorials are celebrated.
It is verily right and just, it is our duty and our salvation, to give thee thanks evermore and everywhere, Lord, holy Father, eternal and almighty God:
Indeed, we should celebrate Thy wondrous providence in the saints, who have consecrated themselves to Christ for the sake of the kingdom of heaven, through which Thou restore human nature to its original holiness and lead it to experience the gifts that will be bestowed in the world to come.
That is wherefore, together with the saints and all the angels, we praise Thou, saying without end:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dóminus Deus Sábaoth...
