Confíteor Deo omnipoténti et vobis, fratres, quia peccávi nimis cogitatióne, verbo, ópere et omissióne:
I confess to Almighty God, and unto thee, brethren, that I have sinned much, in thought, word, deed, and omission:
et, percutientes sibi pectus, dicunt:
And they beat their breasts, saying:
mea culpa, mea culpa, mea máxima culpa.
It's my fault, it's my fault, it's my very big fault.

Then we continue:
Ideo precor beátam Maríam semper Vírginem, omnes Angelos et Sanctos, et vos, fratres, oráre pro me ad Dóminum Deum nostrum.
Wherefore I beseech the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the angels and saints, and thou, brethren, to pray for me unto the Lord our God.
v. Misereátur nostri omnípotens Deus et, dimissís peccátis nostris, perdúcat nos ad vitam ætérnam. r. Amen.
v. May Almighty God have mercy on us, and having forgiven us our sins, may He lead us to eternal life. r. Amen.
