Christo, bono pastóri, qui pro suis óvibus ánimam pósuit, laudes grati exsolvámus et supplicémus, dicéntes:
Let us offer thanksgiving to Christ, the Good Shepherd, who gave His life for His sheep, and beseech Him, saying:
Pasce pópulum tuum, Dómine.
Feed Thy people, O Lord.
Christe, qui in sanctis pastóribus misericórdiam et dilectiónem tuam dignátus es osténdere,
Christ, who is worthy to show Thy mercy and love in Thy holy shepherds,
— numquam désinas per eos nobíscum misericórditer ágere.
— never ceases to show us mercy through them.
Qui múnere pastóris animárum fungi per tuos vicários pergis,
Thou who continue to shepherd souls through Thy vicars,
— ne destíteris nos ipse per rectóres nostros dirígere.
— does not fail to direct us through our rulers.
Qui in sanctis tuis, populórum dúcibus, córporum animarúmque médicus exstitísti,
Thou who show Yourself the physician of souls and bodies in Thy saints, the leaders of Thy people,
— numquam cesses ministérium in nos vitæ et sanctitátis perágere.
— never ceases to pursue the ministry of holiness in our lives.
Qui, prudéntia et caritáte sanctórum, tuum gregem erudísti,
Thou who instruct Thy flock with the wisdom and love of the saints,
— nos in sanctitáte iúgiter per pastóres nostros ædífica.
— build us up evermore in holiness through our pastors.
