Remembering God's works

  But they loved Him only with their mouths, and with their tongues they lied to Him.

  For their hearts were not right with Him, and they were not faithful to His covenant.
   Ipse autem est miséricors * et propitiátur iniquitáti et non dispérdit.
  But He is merciful; He forgave their sins, and did not annihilate them.
  Sæpe avértit iram suam * et non accéndit omnem furórem suum.
  And very oftentimes He turned away His wrath, and did not kindle all His wrath.
  Et recordátus est quia caro sunt, * spíritus vadens et non rédiens.
  He remembered that they were only flesh, a breath that passes and does not return.

  O God, the nations have attacked Thy inheritance, they have desecrated Thy holy temple, they have made Jerusalem a heap of ruins.
