Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.

I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice.

The Lord, supreme judge

Deposuit potentes de sede et exaltavit humiles (Lc 1, 52).

He removes the mighty from their thrones and exalts the humble (Lk 1:52).

Confitébimur tibi, Deus; † confitébimur et invocábimus nomen tuum: *narrábimus mirabília tua.

We will praise Thou, O God; we will praise Thou, and we will call on Thy name; we will tell of Thy wonders.

Cum statúero tempus, *ego iustítias iudicábo.

In the time that I have appointed, I will do perfect justice.

The earth has dissolved, with all those who dwell in it, and I have strengthened its pillars.

Merciful and all-powerful God, who in the middle of the day gives us a time of rest; behold with favor on the work we have begun, correct what we have done wrong, and bring it to a result that pleases Thou.
