Ecce iudex ante ianuam assistit (Iac 5, 9).

Dómine Deus meus, in te sperávi; * salvum me fac ex ómnibus persequéntibus me et líbera me,

Lord, my God, in Thou I trust; save me from all my persecutors and deliver me,

Lest he tear me apart like a lion, and devour his prey, and no one snatches it from him.

Protéctor in te sperántium, Deus, sine quo nihil est válidum, nihil sanctum, † multíplica super nos misericórdiam tuam, * ut, te rectóre, te duce, sic bonis transeúntibus nunc utámur, ut iam possímus inhærére mansúris. Per Dóminum.

Protector of those who hope in Thou, O God, without whom naught is solid, naught holy, pour out Thy mercy abundantly upon us, so that under Thy guidance and direction we may now use the transitory goods so that we may even here on earth remain attached to those who remain.
