Thus says the Lord to Shebna, the steward of the palace: I will expel thee from thy standing, and depose thee from thy ministry. And it shall be in that day: I will call my servant Eliacim the son of Helcias, and will clothe him with thy coat, and will strengthen him with thy girdle, and will give thy power into his hand: and he shall be as a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, & to the house of Juda. In illo témpore: Secéssit Iesus, in partes Tyri et Sidónis. Et ecce múlier Chananǽa a fínibus illis egréssa clamávit dicens: “ Miserére mei, Dómine, fili David! Fília mea male a dæmónio vexátur ”. Qui non respóndit ei verbum. Et accedéntes discípuli eius rogábant eum dicéntes: “ Dimítte eam, quia clamat post nos ”. Ipse autem respóndens ait: “ Non sum missus nisi ad oves, quæ periérunt domus Israel ”. At illa venit et adorávit eum dicens: “ Dómine, ádiuva me! ”. Qui respóndens ait: “ Non est bonum súmere panem filiórum et míttere catéllis ”. At illa dixit: “ Etiam, Dómine, nam et catélli edunt de micis, quæ cadunt de mensa dominórum suórum ”. Tunc respóndens Iesus ait illi: “ O múlier, magna est fides tua! Fiat tibi, sicut vis ”. Et sanáta est fília illíus ex illa hora.
At that time: Jesus went forth from thence and retired into the quarters of Tyre and Sidon. And behold a woman of Chanaan came forth out of those coasts, & crying out, said to him: Have mercy upon me, O Lord the Son of David: my daughter is sore vexed of a devil. Who answered her not a word. And his Disciples came and besought him saying: Dismiss her, because she cryeth out after us. And he answering said: I was not sent but to the sheep that are lost of the house of Israel. But she came and adored him, saying: Lord, help me. Who answering, said: It is not good to take the bread of the Children, and to cast it to the dogs. But she said: Yea Lord; for the whelps also eat of the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters. Then Jesus answering said to her: O woman, great is thy faith: be it done to thee as thou wilt: And her daughter was made whole from that hour.

Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus: per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Verily, it is right and just, fair and salutary for us, evermore and everywhere, to give thee thanks: Lord, Holy Father, eternal and almighty God, through Christ our Lord.
Ipse enim nascéndo vetustátem hóminum renovávit, patiéndo delévit nostra peccáta, ætérnæ vitæ áditum prǽstitit a mórtuis resurgéndo, ad te Patrem ascendéndo cæléstes iánuas reserávit.
