I will give You thanks and praise, and I will bless the name of the Lord. When I was still young, before I went astray, I openly sought wisdom in my prayer; before the temple I called for it, and to the end I sought it, and it sprang up like an early grape. My heart rejoiced in it; my foot trod the straight path. From my youth I sought her. I inclined my ear to it and received it, and found much wisdom for myself and made great progress in it. On the maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus:
Truly it is worthy and just, equitable and salutary, for us always and everywhere to give You thanks: Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God: through Christ, our Lord.
Et te in veneratióne beátæ Maríæ semper Vírginis collaudáre, benedícere et prædicáre. Quæ et Unigénitum tuum Sancti Spíritus obumbratióne concépit, et, virginitátis glória permanénte, lumen ætérnum mundo effúdit, Iesum Christum Dóminum nostrum.
