Léctio sancti Evangélii secúndum Ioánnem (10,1-10)
In illo tempore: Dixit Iesus: “Amen, amen dico vobis: Qui non intrat per óstium in ovíle óvium, sed ascéndit aliúnde, ille fur est et latro; qui autem intrat per óstium, pastor est óvium. Huic ostiárius áperit, et oves vocem eíus áudiunt, et próprias oves vocat nominátim et edúcit eas. Cum próprias omnes emíserit, ante eas vadit, et oves illum sequúntur, quia sciunt vocem eíus; aliénum autem non sequéntur, sed fúgient ab eo, quia non novérunt vocem alienórum.” Hoc provérbium dixit eis Iésus; illi autem non cognovérunt quid esset, quod loquebátur eis. Dixit ergo íterum Iésus: “Amen, amen dico vobis: Ego sum óstium óvium. Omnes, quotquot venérunt ante me, fures sunt et latrónes, sed non audiérunt eos oves. Ego sum óstium; per me, si quis introíerit, salvábitur et ingrediétur et egrediétur et páscua invéniet. Fur non venit, nisi ut furétur et mactet et perdat; ego veni, ut vitam hábeant et abundántius hábeant.
At that time: Jesus said: Amen, amen I say to you, he that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up another way; he is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth by the door, is the Pastor of the sheep. To this man the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them forth. And when he hath let forth his own sheep, he goeth before them: and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. But a stranger they follow not, but fly from him because they know not the voice of strangers. This proverb Jesus said to them. But they knew not what he spake to them. Jesus therefore said to them again: Amen, amen I say to you, that I am the door of the sheep. And how many soever have come, are thieves and robbers: but the sheep heard them not. I am the door. By me if any enter, he shall be saved: & he shall go in and shall go out, & shall find pastures. The thief cometh not but to steal and kill & destroy. I came that they may have life, & may have more aboundantly.
