Léctio libri Daniélis prophétæ (7,9-10.13-14)
Aspiciébam, donec throni pósiti sunt, et Antíquus diérum sedit. Vestiméntum eíus quasi nix cándidum, et capílli cápitis eíus quasi lana munda; thronus eíus flammæ ignis, rotæ eíus ignis accénsus. Flúvius ígneus effluébat et egrediebátur a fácie eíus; mília mílium ministrábant ei, et décies mílies centéna mília assistébant ei: iudícium sedit, et libri apérti sunt. Aspiciébam ergo in visióne noctis: et ecce cum núbibus cæli quasi Fílius hóminis veniébat et usque ad Antíquum diérum pervénit, et in conspéctu eíus obtulérunt eum; et data sunt ei potéstas et honor et regnum; et omnes pópuli, tribus et linguæ ipsi serviérunt: potéstas eíus potéstas ætérna, quæ non auferétur, et regnum eíus, quod non corrumpétur.
I beheld till thrones were set, and the ancient of days sat: his vesture white as snow, and the hairs of his head as clean wool: his throne flames of fire: his wheels fire kindled. Afire & swift stream came forth from his face: thousands of thousands ministered to him, & ten thousand hundred thousands assisted him: judgement sat, and the books were opened. I beheld therefore in the vision of the night, and lo with the clouds of heaven there came in, as it were the son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days: and in his sight they offered him. And he gave him power, and honour, and kingdom: and all peoples, tribes, & tongues shall serve him: his power, an eternal power, that shall not be taken away: and his kingdom, that shall not be corrupted.
