   PRÆFATIO PASCHALIS V
   
   De Christo sacerdote et victima
   Of Christ, Priest and Victim
   Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre:
   Verily, it is worthy and just, fair and beneficial:
   Te quidem, Dómine, omni témpore confitéri, sed in hoc potíssimum gloriósius prædicáre, cum Pascha nostrum immolátus est Christus.
   but even more to exalt Thou in this glorious time when Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed.
   Qui, oblatióne córporis sui, antíqua sacrifícia in crucis veritáte perfécit, et, seípsum tibi pro nostra salúte comméndans, idem sacérdos, altáre et agnus exhíbuit.
   He who, through the sacrifice of His body on the cross, fully fulfilled what the ancient sacrifices foreshadowed and, offering Himself for our salvation, revealed Himself as priest, altar, and victim.
   Quaprópter, profúsis paschálibus gáudiis, totus in orbe terrárum mundus exsúltat.
   And so, filled with the joy of Easter, the whole world rejoices.
   Sed et supérnæ virtútes atque angélicæ potestátes hymnum glóriæ tuæ cóncinunt, sine fine dicéntes:
   But the higher virtues and the angelic powers, too, sing the hymn of Thy glory, saying without ceasing:
