Thanksgiving

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos? (Rom 8, 31).

If God is for us, who will be against us?

Deus, impollúta via eius, † elóquia Dómini igne examináta; * protéctor est ómnium sperántium in se.

God, His way is undefiled, the words of the Lord are tried by fire; He is the protector of all who hope in Him.

Quóniam quis Deus præter Dóminum? * Aut quæ munítio præter Deum nostrum?

For who is God if not the Lord? *Or what fortress, if not our God?

Deus, qui præcínxit me virtúte * et pósuit immaculátam viam meam;

God, who girded me with strength and made my way blameless;

qui perfécit pedes meos tamquam cervórum * et super excélsa státuit me;

who made my feet like those of hinds, and established me on the heights;

A people I didn't know served me, as soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me.

The star from on high has come to visit us and guide our steps on the path of peace. (Lk 1, 78. 79).

The heavens tell of the glory of God, and the work of His hands announces the firmament.

Prayer for the king's victory.

Quicumque invocaverit nomen Domini, salvus erit (Act 2, 21).

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Act 2, 21).

Exáudiat te Dóminus in die tribulatiónis, * prótegat te nomen Dei Iacob.

May the Lord hearken thou in this day of trouble, may the name of the God of Jacob protect thou.

Mittat tibi auxílium de sancto * et de Sion tueátur te.

May He send thou helpest from the sanctuary and guard thou from Zion.
