Léctio sancti Evangélii secundum Ioánnem (14,27-31a)
In illo tempore: Dixit Iesus discipulis suis: Pacem relínquo vobis, pacem meam do vobis; non quómodo mundus dat, ego do vobis.
At that time: Jesus said to His disciples: Peace I leave to you, my peace I give to you; not as the world giveth, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor fear. You have heard that I said to you, I go, and I come to you. If you loved me, you would be glad verily, that I go to the Father: because the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass: that when it shall come to pass, you may believe. Now I will not speak many things with you. For the Prince of this world cometh, and in me he hath not any thing. But that the world may know that I love the Father: and as the Father hath given me commandment, so do I: Arise, let us go hence.
