Have mercy on me, O God, for man is furious after me; all day long they make war on me, they persecute me.

All day long my adversaries harass me; for there are many who fight me with their heads raised.

After this the proper prayer is said straightway and without "Let us pray", with the long conclusion.

God, who loves innocence and causes it to be restored, direct the hearts of Thy servants to Thou, so that under the ardent motion of Thy Spirit they may become stable in faith and active in works.
