Lectio I
When Paul and they that were with him had sailed from Paphos, they came to Perge in Pamphylia. And John departing from them, returned to Jerusalem. But they passing through Perge, came to Antioch in Pisidia: and entering into the Synagogue on the day of the Sabboth, they sat down. And after the lesson of the Law and the Prophets, the princes of the Synagogue sent to them, saying: Men brethren, if there be among you any sermon of exhortation to the people, speak. And Paul rising up, and with his hand beckoning for silence, said: Ye men of Israel, and you that fear God, harken. The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they were sojourners in the land of Ægypt, and in a mighty arm brought them out thereof, and for the space of forty years tolerated their manners in the desert. And destroying seven nations in the land of Chanaan, by lot he divided their land among them, as it were after four hundred and fifty years, and after these things he gave Judges, until Samuel the Prophet. And thenceforth they desired a king: & he gave them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, forty years. and removing him, he raised them up David to be king: to whom giving testimony, he said: I have found David the son of Jesse, a man according to my heart, who shall do all my wills. Of his seed God according to his promise hath brought forth to Israel a Saviour Jesus, John preaching before the face of his coming, baptism of penance to all the people of Israel. And when John fulfilled his course, he said: Whom do you think me to be? I am not he: but behold there cometh after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

PRÆFATIO PASCHALIS IV
De restauratione universi per mysterium paschale
Universal Restoration Through the Mystery of Easter
Verily, it is worthy and just, fair and beneficial:
but even more to exalt Thou in this glorious time when Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed.
Quia, vetustáte destrúcta, renovántur univérsa deiécta, et vitæ nobis in Christo reparátur intégritas.
For our former misery has been destroyed, everything that had fallen apart has been rebuilt, and our life in Christ has been completely renewed.
Quaprópter, profúsis paschálibus gáudiis, totus in orbe terrárum mundus exsúltat.
And so, filled with the joy of Easter, the whole world rejoices.
But the higher virtues and the angelic powers, too, sing the hymn of Thy glory, saying without ceasing:
