This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.

The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.

Defeat of the godless

Omnes peccaverunt et egent gloria Dei (Rom 3, 23).

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23).

Dixit insípiens in corde suo: «Non est Deus». † Corrúpti sunt et abominatiónes operáti sunt; * non est qui fáciat bonum.

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God!" They are corrupt, they commit abominable crimes; there is none that does good.

Deus de cælo prospéxit super fílios hóminum, * ut vídeat si est intéllegens aut requírens Deum.

God, from heaven, looks at the sons of man, to behold if there is anyone who is intelligent, someone who seeks God.

Omnes declinavérunt, simul corrúpti sunt; * non est qui fáciat bonum, non est usque ad unum.

All are misguided, all are perverted; there is none of them who does good, not even one.

Oh! may the deliverance of Israel come from Zion! When God brings back the captives of His people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will rejoice.

Deus, in nómine tuo salvum me fac * et in virtúte tua iúdica me.

O God, save me by Thy name, and do me justice by Thy power.

O God, hearken my prayer, give ear unto the words of my mouth.

For strangers have risen against me, violent men want my life; they do not put God before their eyes.
