Pange, lingua, gloriósi próélium certáminis et super crucis tropǽo dic triúmphum nóbilem, quáliter redémptor orbis immolátus vícerit.
Sing, my tongue, the glorious battle Sing the last, the dread affray; O’er the Cross, the victor’s trophy, Sound the high triumphal lay: Tell how Christ, the world’s Redeemer, As a victim won the day.
De paréntis protoplásti fraude factor cóndolens, quando pomi noxiális morte morsu córruit, ipse lignum tunc notávit, damna ligni ut sólveret.
God, His Maker, sorely grieving That the first-made Adam fell, When he ate the fruit of sorrow, Whose reward was death and hell, Noted then this Wood, the ruin Of the ancient wood to quell.
For the work of our salvation Needs would have his order so, And the multiform deceiver’s Art by art would overthrow, And from thence would bring the med’cine Whence the insult of the foe.
Wherefore, when the sacred fulness Of the appointed time was come, This world’s Maker left His Father, Sent the heav’nly mansion from, And proceeded, God Incarnate, Of the Virgin’s holy womb.
Lustra sex qui iam perácta tempus implens córporis, se volénte, natus ad hoc, passióni déditus, agnus in crucis levátur immolándus stípite.
Æqua Patri Filióque, ínclito Paráclito, sempitérna sit beátæ Trinitáti glória, cuius alma nos redémit atque servat grátia. Amen.

Cur pércutis me ecce iam tértio? " Respóndit Bálaam: " Quia illusísti mihi. Utinam habérem gládium, ut te interfícerem! " Dixit ásina: " Nonne ánimal tuum sum, cui semper sedére consuevísti usque in præséntem diem? Dic quid símile umquam fécerim tibi. " At ille ait: " Numquam. Et videns me ásina declinávit ter a me; nisi declinásset, te occidíssem et illam vivam reliquíssem.

Pax cæli tráditur doli ósculo, tenétur tenens ómnia, alligátur ómnium nexus, dúcitur áttrahens univérsa, a falso véritas accusátur, sístitur cui assístunt ómnia; Iudæi géntibus tradunt, reddunt gentes Iudæis; Heródi mittit Pilátus, remíttit Heródes Piláto; et commércium fit impietátis, píetas; sánctitas in núndinam crudelitátis perdúcitur; flagellátur remíssio, condemnátur vénia, illúditur maiéstas, ridétur virtus, perfúnditur largítor ímbrium sputis, clavis ferri cæli strator affígitur, mellis dator cibátur felle, propinátor fóntium potátur acéto; et cum nihil iam restet ex pœnis, mors réfugit, mors morátur, quia suum ubi esset nil sentit.
r. Pacífice loquebántur mihi inimíci mei, et in ira molésti erant mihi. * Vidísti, Dómine, ne síleas, ne díscedas a me. v. Omnes inimíci mei advérsum me cogitábant mala mihi, verbum iníquum mandavérunt advérsum me. * Vidísti. v. Glória Patri. * Vidísti.

Orémus.
Absólve, quǽsumus, Dómine, tuórum delícta populórum, † ut a peccatórum néxibus, quæ pro nostra fragilitáte contráximus, * tua benignitáte liberémur. Per Dóminum.
Absolve, we pray Thou, Lord, for the faults of Thy people; since our weakness has made us captives of sin, may thy tenderness deliver us from it.
