Now holding fast to God's design, As daylight reaches its third hour, With pious hearts let us implore The glory of his threefold pow'r.

Ut simus habitáculum illi Sancto Spirítui, qui quondam in apóstolis hac hora distribútus est.

Set before me for a law, O Lord, the way of thy justifications: * and I will always seek after it.

Da mihi intelléctum, et servábo legem tuam * et custódiam illam in toto corde meo.

Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; * and I will keep it with my whole heart.

Deduc me in sémitam præceptórum tuórum, * quia ipsam vólui.

Lead me into the path of thy commandments: * for this same I have desired.

Inclína cor meum in testimónia tua * et non in avarítiam.

This hath comforted me in my humiliation: * because thy word hath enlivened me.

I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord: * and I was comforted.
