De actione Spiritus in Ecclesia.
On the Work of the Holy Spirit in the Church
Vere dignum et iustum est, æquum et salutáre, nos tibi semper et ubíque grátias ágere: Dómine, sancte Pater, omnípotens ætérne Deus:
It is verily right and just, fair and beneficial, to give thee thanks evermore and everywhere: Lord, holy Father, eternal and almighty God:
Qui síngulis quibúsque tempóribus aptánda dispénsas, mirísque modis Ecclésiæ tuæ gubernácula moderáris.
Thou, who wisely order the course of time and, through wondrous means, steer the helm of Thy Church.
Virtúte enim Spíritus Sancti ita eam adiuváre non désinis, ut súbdito tibi semper afféctu nec in tribulatióne supplicáre defíciat, nec inter gáudia grátias reférre desístat, per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Indeed, through the power of the Holy Spirit, thou never cease to assist her, so that she may never fail to pray unto thee with devotion in times of tribulation, nor to give thee thanks in times of joy, through Christ our Lord.
Et ídeo, choris angélicis sociáti, te laudámus in gáudio confiténtes:
And that is wherefore, together with the angelic choirs, we praise thou as we express our joy.
